This is a reminder that all 10th grade students will take the PreACT on Wednesday, November 8th beginning at 8:30 am.  All 10th graders need to bring a calculator and a #2 pencil to their testing site.

There will be a parent meeting for winter sports athletes at 6:00 pm tomorrow, November 7th.  Immediately following the parent meeting is our Athletic Booster Meeting which will also be held in the auditorium, start time is 6:30 pm.

The Cumberland County Evening of Dance will be held at Jack Britt this Wednesday, November 8th.  The event will begin at 7:00pm and admission is free.

Thursday, November 9th is a 3-hour early release for students.  Students will be released from Jack Britt at 12:27pm.

The school will be closed Friday, November 10th in observance of Veterans Day.

Congratulations go out to our Varsity football team for making the state playoffs.  The first round will be held at Jack Britt HS against Millbrook HS.  Start time is 7:30, and the gates will open at 6:30;  Cost of admission is $7.  Tickets can be purchased in advance at gofan.com.

This is a reminder that all 10th grade students will take the PreSAT on Wednesday, November 8th beginning at 8:30 am.  All 10th graders need to bring a calculator and a #2 pencil to their testing site.  Students are recommended to get a good night sleep the night before testing and to eat a hearty breakfast on the morning of the test.
The senior class picture and club pictures originally scheduled for November 8th have been cancelled and will be taken at a later date due to the PreACT. We will announce the dates when they become available.
Winter sports pictures have also been changed from November 8th to November 16th.
The Master Exterminators Termite Technicians will be at Jack Britt on November 8th 4:00 pm. for a thorough inspection.  No chemicals will be used unless necessary.
This is just a reminder that school will be closed November 10th in observance of Veterans Day.

Jack Britt’s Integrated Systems Technology Academy (ISTA) is sponsoring Spirit Night at the Chick-Fil-A located on Raeford Road all day tomorrow, November 2nd. Remember to tell the cashier when ordering that you are supporting Jack Britt! Our ISTA students and staff will be on hand from 5 to 8pm for game time where customers can win prizes. We hope to see you there!
Our Thanks Giving Love Box drive is still in full swing, if you are interested in sponsoring a box or donating items please check out the Jack Britt website for more information and a list of items needed; or call the school at 429-2800.
Operation Toy Drop is back at Jack Britt. Please drop off new, unwrapped toys to the main office between now and December 8th and help make the holidays a little brighter for those in need.
Report cards will be sent home with all students Friday, November 3rd. Please check with your student to see how they progressed this grading period.
An Athletic Booster Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 7th at 6:30 pm. All parents and guardians are invited to attend.

Tonight’s first round of the soccer tournament has been postponed due to impending inclement weather.  JBHS will host Seventy-First High School tomorrow night at 7:00 pm.

The 1st of two Senior Ad Yearbook Design Nights is Wednesday, October 25, from 4-7pm in room A102. There is a limited amount of space for senior ads, so don’t wait until the last minute. Ads will be sold on a first come, first served basis until space is sold out! Payment may only be paid by credit card. Don’t forget to bring your pictures. You can order a yearbook and also design your own senior ad at www.yearbookforever.com.

Also, on Wednesday, October 25th, our Theatre department will be performing “How to Roommate” in the auditorium at 6:00 pm.  Admission is free.

Federal Cards will be sent home with all students tomorrow, October 17th. All students need to bring their completed Federal Card back to school Wednesday, October 18th. Parents, please follow the instructional letter that was sent home with the card. It is important that all information is accurate and that you sign and date the card before returning it to your child’s teacher.
Progress reports were sent home with all students today. Please make sure you check with your student to see what progress they have made this grading period.
Jostens will be on the Jack Britt campus this Saturday, October 21st from 10:00 am thru 2:00 pm for Junior ring orders; Senior Cap & Gown orders and other graduation items. Juniors and seniors will meet with a Jostens representative this Wednesday during school and will bring home informational packets. So please check with your student and plan on meeting with the Josten’s representatives this Saturday between 10 am and 2:00 pm
On Thursday, October 19th Jack Britt will participate in the Great South East Shake Out Earthquake Exercise. This is just an exercise to prepare students what to do in the event of an actual earthquake.
This is a reminder to all parents that Monday, October 30th is a student holiday.

To all students and parents, this is a reminder that students will have a three-hour early release on tomorrow, September 27th. Students will be released at 12:27pm. Again, students will be released from school at 12:27 pm tomorrow, September 27th.
Seniors: Lifetouch will be on campus Thursday and Friday for formal make-ups. The girls are scheduled for Thursday the 28th and need to bring a spaghetti strap top with them for the picture; they must be in school dress code during the day. The guys are scheduled for Friday the 29th and need to wear a white t-shirt for the picture. There is a $15 dollar photography fee due at the time of the photo.

To all students and parents, this is a reminder that students will have a three-hour early release on Wednesday, September 27th.  Students will be released at 12:27pm.  Again, Wednesday, September 27th will be a three hour early release for students.

Seniors: Lifetouch will be on campus Thursday and Friday September 28th and 29th for senior formal make-ups.  Underclass make-ups and ID Make-ups are scheduled for October 5th.

Jack Britt will be hosting Rachel’s Challenge tomorrow, September 11th at 5:00 pm in the auditorium.  Rachel’s Challenge exists to equip and inspire individuals to replace acts of violence, bullying and negativity with acts of respect, kindness and compassion.  Rachel’s Challenge is based on the life and writings of Rachel Joy Scott who was the first victim in the Columbine school shooting in 1999.  Through her example, Rachel’s Challenge is making a positive impact in the lives of millions of people every year. Please come out and support Jack Britt’s efforts and view the presentation given by Rachel’s uncle.

Any 10th and 11th grade student interested in taking the PSAT on October 11th should pay a $16 fee in the Counseling Office.  The first 100 students to pay receive a student guide.  Any questions, please contact Ms. Tracie Taylor.

The Cumberland County Code Red Drill originally scheduled for Wednesday, September 13th has been rescheduled to Tuesday, September 19th at 10:00 am.

Our Annual Powder Puff Game will be held this Thursday, September 14th at 7PM.  The gate will open at 6PM.  The cost of admission is $5.00.  Athletic passes may not be used for this event.  Will it be the Senior or Junior girls who will take home bragging rights this year, so please come out and cheer your favorite team to victory.

The Varsity Football game scheduled for tonight against Grays Creek High School has been postponed due to impending weather.  The game will be played tomorrow, Saturday, September 2nd.  Kick off time is 1:00 pm; and the gates will open at 12:00.  Again, the varsity football game scheduled for tonight has been rescheduled for tomorrow, September 2nd at 1:00 pm.

All afternoon activities have been cancelled for today.

Also, please be reminded that school is closed Monday, September 4th in observance of Labor Day.

Good evening, this is Jack Britt High School calling.
Open House is scheduled for tomorrow evening from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. This is a great time for you to meet all your child’s teachers. We hope all of your will attend!
Lifetouch will be on campus Thursday and Friday this week, August 31st and September 1st for Underclass Pictures and all student ID Cards. All students need to take their picture whether or not they are purchasing a package. Students should check with their homeroom teacher for the date and time their homeroom is scheduled for pictures. Package information was sent home with all underclass students today. If you are purchasing a package students must have their payment in hand when taking their picture. Seniors will take their ID card pictures during their scheduled lunch.
Students are reminded that class dues should be paid the first two weeks of school. Fees are as follows: 9th & 10th Graders $5.00, Juniors $35.00 and Seniors $40. Dues need to be paid to the student’s homeroom teacher. Junior and Senior fees do increase $5.00 monthly until paid. The first increase will take effect on October 1st.
Homecoming dance tickets will be sold during all lunches tomorrow thru Tuesday, September 5th. Tickets will not be sold on Friday, September 1st.
Parents please check with your students this evening. Many forms were sent home with your child that needs to be completed and returned to the school.
