Stack of Cell Phones on Left Right Side Skull and Crossed Swords and Text Parent Link Phone CallsThe members of the Jack Britt High School Ladies of Total Image and Gentlemen of Distinction Club are sponsoring their 13th Annual Thanksgiving Love Box Food Drive for needy families in the Jack Britt Community.  Last year with the help of various clubs and sponsors, the Ladies of Total Image and Gentlemen of Distinction Club provided complete Thanksgiving meals or $50 Gift Cards for 96 needy families in our community.  If your family would like to contribute to this worthy cause by sponsoring a Thanksgiving Love Box or a $50 gift card or are in need of a Thanksgiving Love Box, please contact the Club Advisors, Mrs. Janice Daniels, Vivian Reed or Patricia Richardson no later than Friday, November 12th.  A list of the food items needed to complete a Thanksgiving Love Box is located on the Jack Britt web page.  With your help, we CAN make a difference in our community.

The admissions officer from West Point will be at Jack Britt HS for an Admissions Briefing this Thursday, October 24th at 6:00 pm in the school’s auditorium.   Anyone interested in attending the military academy should attend the briefing.

Stack of Cell Phones on the Left With JBHS Skull and Parent Link Phone CallsThe Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Monday, October 7th from 5 to 7 pm. All parents and guardians are welcome to attend. Bring your student with you; their presence will enhance your conference. We hope to see all of you there.

Report cards were sent home with all students on Monday, September 30th. Make sure you check with your student to see the progress they made during the 1 st grading period.
School closures due to the hurricane on September 5th & 6th will be made up on the following dates. October 16th which was scheduled as an early release day for students will now be a full day of school. October 21 st which was scheduled as a student holiday is now a regular school day for students.

FASA day will be held on October 26th from 9 to noon at FTCC in the Tony Rand Center, room 131. Bring your FSA User ID and password and your own and your parent’s 2018 tax returns if applicable.

Parents and members of the senior class of 2020: For your convenience, information containing important dates, methods to earn extra graduation tickets, contacts, and information relating to graduation requirements has been added to the Jack Britt website section for seniors. Please take the time to review it.

Kick-off time is 7:30 p.m. and the gates will open at 6:30 p.m.

Friday’s Game is a Purple-Out Game and Military Appreciation Night.  We are asking all attendees to wear purple to the game in support of the undefeated Buccaneers as they take on the 4-0 Scotland Scots. The Athletic Booster Club will have limited edition shirts for sale at lunch on Friday and also at the game Friday night.  Sizes range from small to XXL in limited quantities, and all sizes are $15.

By presenting your Military ID after you purchase your ticket you will receive a $1 coupon redeemable at our concession stands. A Military recognition will take place during the game as well as an appearance from the All Veteran Parachute Jump Team. Shirt tosses and other fun-filled activities will make this a night you won’t want to miss!

Also, all active duty, retired and military dependents with a valid military ID, will receive one complimentary bottle of water from the Athletic Booster Club; Sponsored by Pepsi Bottling Ventures.

We hope to see you there and Go Bucs!

The Athletic Booster Club will hold its Annual Golf Tournament Sunday, October 6th with a start time of 1:00 p.m. at the Gates Four Golf and Country Club. Teams and Individuals are welcome. And we also have Hole Sponsorship opportunities available. Please contact the school’s main office for more information.

The 2019 yearbooks are here!  If you did not pre-order a book, the extras will be sold tomorrow morning, May 9th at 7:45 am in the Crow’s Nest and during all lunches, while supplies last.  The cost of a yearbook is $100.00 cash or money order.  Yearbooks will be sold on a first come first served basis.  There is a limited supply available, so don’t miss out on your chance to purchase a copy of the 2019 “Be BOLD” Yearbook!

Final exams are quickly approaching! They are scheduled for May 20th thru May 24th, and we are still in need of proctors for these days. If you are available to proctor, please contact Mrs. April Norton at 429-2800. You can earn 1 graduation ticket for every 2 days of proctoring. Thank you in advance for your support.

The Dance Program on May 9th will begin at 7:00pm not 6:00 pm as stated on the report cards that were sent home last Thursday.

Jostens will be on campus tomorrow, May 6th during all lunches for senior deliveries.

AP Exams begin tomorrow; the AP exam schedule is on the website.  Students taking morning exams need to arrive at school by 7:30 am.

The Spring Sports Awards Banquet will be held on Wednesday, May 15th at 6:00pm.  Athletes need to pick up their free meal tickets during their assigned lunch tomorrow, May 6th thru Wednesday May 8th.  Additional tickets for family members may be purchased at the same time.  The cost of additional tickets is $7 per person. The buffet will be catered by Mission BBQ.

It’s not too late to purchase a ticket for the “Jack Britt Athletic Reverse Raffle Steak Dinner” scheduled for Saturday May 11th at the Gates Four Outdoor Pavilion.  The last day to purchase a ticket is tomorrow, May 6th.  The grand prize is $1000, 2nd place prize is $500, and the 3rd place prize is $250 along with many other additional prizes; every ticket is a winner!

The Athletic Booster Club will have their End-of-Year Blow-Out Sale Friday May 10th and Friday May 17th during all lunches.  They are clearing out all items to prepare for new designs for next year.  Get your T-Shirts, Hoodies, Hats and other items at close out prices, prices range from $1 to $15 dollars!

The Athletic Booster Club has been asked to provide volunteers for the Stars and Stripes Celebrity Golf Tournament being held at Gates Four on Sunday, May 19th.  This event honors our Military and First Responders. Volunteers will receive a royal blue shirt to wear during the event and enjoy a meal provided by Mission BBQ at the awards Celebration.  By volunteering for two shifts Senior Parents can earn one (1) extra graduation ticket.  If interested contact Whitney Owens at owensfamily@centurylink.net.

The last day to pre-order your yearbook is April 30th.  This is the only way to guarantee that you will get a book. A list has been posted on the Yearbook bulletin board by the attendance office of the students that have purchased a book. You can order your copy at www.yearbookforever.com.

Jack Britt will be closed Friday, April 19th through Friday, April 26th.  Students return to school on Monday, April 29th.  Have a safe and relaxing spring break!

This is a reminder that Workkeys testing for CTE Concentrators will be on tomorrow, April 2 and Friday, April 5 for FTCC students.  Students received purple notices in March and will received testing passes in 1st period the day before their testing.  Students need to report to the room on the pass on the date listed by 8:30.  Please bring an approved calculator, your testing pass and a photo ID; leave everything else in your locker.  You are required to take this test, so please attend on your scheduled test date.  If you have any questions please see MrsWitherspoon in the Guidance office or Mrs. Hodges in A106.

To better ensure our students’ and staff’s safety at Jack Britt High School, we have installed a buzzer system at the entrance to our building.  Beginning tomorrow, March 14th all exit doors will remain locked during school hours.  Anyone attempting to enter the school will need to press the buzzer located by the far right door of the main entrance.  

The office will ask you to state your name, the purpose of your visit and your child’s name.  Please have a picture ID handy when entering.

Once the door is unlocked for you, you and anyone with you should report to the main office.  Do not hold the door open for others to enter behind you.

Valentine’s Day is this Thursday and we want to remind all parents and students that we will not accept any flowers, balloons, gifts or any other deliveries for students at Jack Britt.  Students should also refrain from bringing any of these items on campus.  We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Senior Cap and Gown Pictures will be Thursday, February 14 for the girls and Friday, February 15 for the boys. These pictures are only for purchasing purposes. They do NOT go in the yearbook. There’s a mandatory sitting fee of $10 due at your scheduled photo time. Ordering packages occur after you see proofs in 2 to 4 weeks. Caps, gowns, tassels and honor cords (only to those eligible) will be provided. Announcements will not be made throughout the day. Check the Jack Britt website for your scheduled time. If you have an FTCC class, go at an earlier time before you leave campus.
