Pink Circle with Football Inside it with Text Go Team Powder PuffUPDATE – PRACTICE DATES HAVE CHANGED DUE TO WEATHER (9/4/19)

The annual powderpuff game will be on 9/12/2019 at 6:00 pm at the Boneyard.

Cost for spectators is $5.00

Signups will begin on 8/29/2019, see Ms. Tracie Taylor during your lunch at the Admin table.  Junior and Senior females can participate in flag football.  Junior and Senior males can participate as cheerleaders.
Female Football Participants – $20 (this includes a t-shirt to wear in the game)
Male Cheer Participants –  $15
Practices for females will be before school at 7:00 am on 9/9, 9/10, and 9/11
Junior females will practice on the band field, Senior females will practice on the practice football field.
All proceeds will go to the Jack Britt High School media center.  Thank you for your support!

First Semester Exams are scheduled for the week of December 17th thru the 21st. We are still in need of proctors. If you’re interested please contact Mrs. April Norton at 429-2800 to sign-up. All proctors must be approved on the county volunteer list. If you have not submitted your application to volunteer, you still have time; it takes about a week to process! The volunteer website is located on the Cumberland county website at ccs.k12.nc.us.

Juniors, the ACT is quickly approaching. We are offering two free ACT prep courses; one on Tuesday afternoons and the other on Thursday afternoons. Each session will consist of 6 two hour classes. You can sign up for either session tomorrow, December 10th beginning at 8:00 am in the counseling office. The first 50 juniors to sign up for each session will be included. Space is extremely limited and full commitment to the sessions will be expected as this will be a very valuable experience for juniors. Tuesday sessions will begin on January 8th and Thursday sessions will begin on January 10th.

The PreACT will be given on Thursday, November 8th from approximately 8:00 am through 12:00 pm.  We are in need of proctors.  If you are interested, please call the school at 910-429-2800 and speak with Mrs. Norton.  Senior parents can earn an extra graduation ticket for this year’s graduation ceremony by proctoring this test.  We only need a limited number of proctors so please call as soon as possible!!

The 1st of two Senior Ad Yearbook Design Nights is tomorrow, October 24, from 4-7 in room A102. There’s a limited amount of space for senior ads, so don’t wait until the last minute. First come, first served until space is sold out! Payment may only be paid by credit card. Don’t forget to bring your pictures. You can order a yearbook and also design your own senior ad at www.yearbookforever.com.

Senior Baby Pictures for the Yearbook are also due to room A102 on Friday, October 26th. This is separate from Senior Ads and it’s FREE for all Seniors.

This is just a reminder that Federal Cards were sent home with all students today. Parents, please follow the instructional letter that was also sent home with the card. It is important that all information is accurate and that you sign and date the card before returning it to your child’s teacher. Students need to bring their completed Federal Card back to school October 17th thru the 19th to their homeroom teacher. Students will report to homeroom at 8:30 tomorrow morning.

Lifetouch will hold two Senior Formal Portraits Make Up days in their studio on Saturday, October 20th and Saturday, October 27th, from 9am thru 12:00 pm. You must schedule an appointment by calling 910-425-0290. There are a limited number of appointments available. This is the last time seniors will be able to do formal make-ups. There is a sitting fee of $15.00.

Jostens will be on campus November 6th to meet with Juniors and seniors about Ring Sales and Cap and Gown orders. They will also be on campus November 14th from 4-8pm for Junior Class Ring sales; and on November 13th from 4-7pm for Senior Cap & Gown and graduation orders.
