Changes in Lunch Meal Prices for the 2016-2017 School Year
On Tuesday, April 12, 2016, the Cumberland County Board of Education approved the federally mandated ten cent increase in lunch meals for the upcoming 2016-2017 school year. Meal prices will be as follows:

Breakfast for full paying students grade K-12 will will continue to be $ 0.90
Breakfast for reduced students in all grades will be $ 0.00 (pending state approval; otherwise, it will be   $ 0.30).

Lunch for full paying students in grades K-5 will be $ 2.05
Lunch for fully paying students in grades 6-12 will be $ 2.15

Lunch for reduced students in all grades will be $ 0.40

Please note: this information does not apply to CEP schools.

Graduations Airing LIVE on FCE-TV (Cable Channel 5)
For the first time ever, the Cumberland County School (CCS) system is excited to inform you that this year’s graduation ceremonies will be broadcast LIVE. The school system, in conjunction with FTCC, The Crown, and Time Warner Cable (TWC) will air the June 9 and 10 high school graduation ceremonies LIVE from the Crown Coliseum! From the comfort of your home, as a Time Warner Cable subscriber, you can watch CCS’ students walk across the stage to get their diplomas on FCE-TV – Cable Channel 5 according to the schedule below.

In a continuing effort to serve the worldwide community, the Cumberland County School system in conjunction with the Crown Coliseum will offer live Webcasts of the 2016 CCS’ Graduation Ceremonies on June 9-10.  View the commencement exercises according to the schedule below, by visiting the following link. Graduation Ceremonies at the Crown

Note: Graduations held at FSU and the Crown Theatre will be archived on the Crown’s Website. Those graduations will not be available for viewing until the week following the last graduation on June 10.

Monday, June 6th is our Senior Awards program. We will be recognizing seniors who have received scholarships, grants and the Montgomery GI Bill. Seniors need to be on campus by 6:00 pm. The program will begin at 6:30 pm in the school’s auditorium!

The National Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE) Organization has named Rhiannon P a rising senior at Jack Britt High School to the Youth Advisory Board.  This board is comprised of students from several different states, backgrounds and ethnicities.  This YAB will direct the National SAVE program for the 2016-17 school year.  Let’s all congratulate and support Rhiannon as she takes on this new endeavor.

every vote countsStudents will be able to vote 5/16-5/20 during their lunch Monday-Friday. They will vote in the Crow’s Nest. Students DO NOT need to show ID to vote, but will be asked their PS# and will sign next to their name on the roster. They are voting on the computers, and the Google form will allow them to vote only once and will record their username when they do.

PLEASE participate in the election process. All voters will receive “I voted” stickers.  Please let Mrs. Guzman know if you have any questions or concerns.
