Re-entry Enrollment for the 2020-2021 School Year
Published by Amanda Long on July 14, 2020

In alignment with guidance from state officials, Cumberland County Schools (CCS) has created three reopening plans (A, B & C), pending the decision of Gov. Roy Cooper. If the governor selects Plan B (Blended-Remote and Face-to-Face Learning), the district will provide three options for CCS families.
ACTION REQUIRED: To allow the district to prepare for Plan B, parents are asked to choose one of the following three learning experiences, within Plan B, that best suits their child. The option selection remains in place for at least one semester. Note: All students will have access to social-emotional support.
Option I
Blended In-Person
Learning Experience
Students will be provided with a rotating schedule for both in-person and remote learning to maximize learning outcomes. This option will include a combination of face-to-face and remote instruction.
Option II
Remote Learning
Experience Full-Time
Families selecting this option will not be provided with a face-to-face schedule. All instruction will occur online with assigned teachers from the child’s school. Once school returns to a normal schedule with face-to-face instruction for all students, this option will be dissolved.
Option III
Enrollment in
Cumberland Academy
(K-12 Virtual School)
Cumberland Academy (K-12 Virtual School), a new Choice Program in CCS, will serve as a separate school within the Cumberland County Schools. It is designed to provide K-12 students and families with an alternative learning option through the use of online, interactive course content.
Cumberland Academy will be a fully functioning school with a flexible learning environment. This is a permanent option.
Re-Entry Enrollment Period: July 13-19, 2020
